Reports
CaseFlow has a small set of built-in reports for revenue, disbursements, time, and prospective clients. They live under the Reports sidebar entry and are intended for partner reviews, month-end checks, and tax/payroll prep. Reports are read-only views over your live data; there is no scheduling or report-builder feature.
Available reports
Click Reports in the sidebar to expand the submenu. The submenu shows up to six items, in this order:

| Disbursements vs Income | A single bar chart comparing monthly disbursements against monthly income for the selected year |
| Prospective Clients | Conversion stats: this-week conversions, source breakdown, monthly conversions, plus a per-staff switcher |
| Timesheets overview | Time entries logged across the firm with filters for period, staff, client, matter, and per-task grouping |
| KB Articles | Knowledge-base article view counts grouped by KB group |
Two notes on labelling:
- The older labels "Sales", "Expenses", "Expenses vs. Income", and "Leads" are rebranded across the CaseFlow UI to Finance, Disbursements, Disbursements vs Income, and Prospective Clients. You may occasionally see the older labels in URLs or older guides.
- There is no "Reports" landing page; clicking Reports at the top expands the submenu but does not open a dashboard.
Per-report permissions
The submenu is gated by per-staff capabilities (Setup > Roles > Reports):
- View lets a staff member open the Finance, Disbursements, Disbursements vs Income, Prospective Clients, and KB Articles reports.
- View timesheets lets a staff member see the firm-wide Timesheets overview. Without it, the user only sees their own time entries.
Admins always have full access.
Plan availability
All built-in reports are available on every plan (Solo, Growth, Multi-Practice). There is no "advanced reports" tier - every firm sees the same set.
Filters and date ranges
Filters vary by report. The most common controls are:
- Period - usually a year selector for the disbursement and income reports; a period picker (today / this month / last month / this week / last week / custom) on the Timesheets overview; and "this month / last month / 3 months / 6 months / 12 months / custom" on Finance sub-reports.
- Currency - shown only on reports that aggregate amounts when the firm has more than one currency in use; defaults to base currency.
- Client / matter / staff - on the Timesheets overview.
- Status - on the Finance > Invoice and Estimate sub-reports.
There is no firm-wide "report date range default"; each report has its own preset.
Export
Export support is uneven across the reports. Where available it appears as a small icon row above the data:
- Finance > most sub-reports: Excel and PDF buttons.
- Disbursements report: Excel and PDF buttons.
- Disbursements > Detailed report: Print, CSV, Excel, and PDF buttons.
- Disbursements vs Income: no export; chart only.
- Prospective Clients report: no export; chart only.
- Timesheets overview: no export from the report view; export time entries from the matter timesheet instead.
There is no firm-wide "Export all data" or "scheduled report" feature.
